Supporting the Rafiki Foundation in Africa
Join us Wednesday, August 11, at 11:30 am in Room C22 as we pray for the missionaries, orphans and students in the Rafiki Training Villages in Rwanda & Zambia, Africa. From Mike & Vicky Koch's prayer requests: "God would use us as instruments of Christ's love and mercy to the people of Rwanda." (Psalm 146:7-9, Psalm 147:3)
Girls on the Go - Not Just for Girls
Anyone is invited to come. We are going to "The Giant" in Pendleton. This one-man tribute to nature is considered to be the pinnacle of environmental science anywhere in the world. Using the forest around him and the latest in hi-tech, artist and designer Vic Cook built this half-underground home. The Giant is powered by solar panels and storage batteries, which produce enough energy to run 2 computers, a big-screen TV and a washing machine, plus a recording studio and a one-of-a-kind refrigerator. A half-mile nature hike is required to reach his abode. (Get more info at www.giantearthship.com.) Please join us on Thursday, August 12 (with a raindate of Friday, August 26). We will carpool from the church at 8:45 am. The cost is $12 for adults and $6 for students. (Minimum number for tour is 10, maximum is 30.)
